Explore Recent DEI Trends

Over the past six weeks, the Belonging at Work team developed a blog series exploring emerging trends for diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI) professionals. Each week, the blog series examined a new trend in the DEI field with the purpose of encouraging more leaders to consider if these trends were worth pursuing. If they were, leaders were encouraged to consider how they could be implemented. A summary of these 2018 DEI trends include:

1)    Embracing an inclusive “diversity” definition

2)    Leveraging artificial intelligence to overcome unconscious bias

3)    Sourcing high potential talent with non-traditional credentials

4)    Assessing the ROI of Your Diversity Efforts

5)    Refreshing the Interview Process to Reduce Bias

6)    Holding Leadership Accountable to Their Diversity Commitment

To connect with fellow professionals, we’ll be offering a live webinar next Thursday, April 12 where  participants will have an opportunity to further explore these trends. The learning kicks off at 11 am Pacific/2 pm Eastern time, and DEI professionals along with anyone else interested in the concept of how to cultivate workplace cultures of belonging are encouraged to register here: www.rhodesperry.com/register.

During the webinar, participants will gain a foundational understanding of how emerging DEI trends align with their organization’s current vision around creating workplace cultures of belonging. Together, we’ll discuss what trends are possible for your organization over the short term, and what trends may be more aspirational to drive the work into the future. No matter if your organization has been focused on this work for decades, or if you’re just getting started, you’ll walk away from the conversation with greater knowledge, skills, and confidence to put these trends into practice.
