Learn Personal Actions You Can Take to Build an Inclusive Workplace
Next week, I have the honor of speaking at the 24th Annual Northwest Public Employees Diversity Conference helping elected officials and executives manage diversity best practices to cultivate workplace cultures where all stakeholders know that they belong. Most of this conversation will center around empowering leaders and other key influencers to embrace a paradigm shift where diversity management moves from one-off initiatives that often stall out when the economy stagnates into everyday leadership practices that are stitched within the fabric of an organization’s ethos, business plan, budget, and decision-making lens.
Good news! Even if you don’t identify as a key influencer or leader within your organization, there are every day, personal actions that you can take to foster a more equitable and inclusive workplace. To discuss some of these simple yet effective strategies, I’ll be offering a webinar entitled, Cultivating a Culture of Belonging, on Thursday, November 9 at 11:00 am Pacific/2:00 pm Eastern. Participants will have the opportunity to gain personal strategies intended to welcome, include, and engage diverse talent, ideas, and experiences.
The webinar will accomplish two goals: 1) clarify why workplace inclusion and belonging matters, and; 2) define how any professional in the workplace can take personal actions to cultivate it. The goals will be met through offering a foundational understanding of what diversity, equity, and inclusion at work means, providing some examples as to why DEI is essential for the future health of your organization, and sharing effective best practices that you can personally take to build a more welcoming workplace.
This webinar welcomes any professional seeking additional strategies and confidence, and works especially well with those who want to expand their knowledge and leadership skills when it comes to creating a more inclusive organization. Together we will provide a brave learning space where you’ll have the opportunity to pick up a few new skills, connect with like-minded professionals, and engage in a dynamic Q&A session to understand the struggles, successes, and learning curves of fellow colleagues on the journey with you.
